Valentine Walk
This is played like a Cake Walk. Cut out 20 large red hearts from
construction or stock paper and number them 1 - 20. Also cut small
pieces of paper and number them 1 - 20 then place them in a decorated
bag or container. Tape the large hearts to the floor in a heart
shaped pattern. When the music plays the guests will walk around
the circle. When the music stops a number is pulled from the
bag/container and the person who is standing on that heart receives a
cupcake. Keep playing until the cupcakes are gone. |
Valentines Day Scavenger
Hunt
You'll find 30 different Valentine theme items to find in this fun
Scavenger hunt.
Print out the
free Valentines Day Scavenger Hunt list here.
How to play: Divide into two or more teams. Give a copy of
the list to both teams along with a plastic bag (to carry the items) and
a pencil (to mark off items as they are collected). Give
each team a separate territory in the neighborhood to find items.
We give one team the odd number houses and the other team the even
number houses. Set a time limit - 1 to 2 hours. The first
team back within the time limit wins 5 extra bonus points.
Each item is worth 1 point. If a team is late they are docked 5
points. Sometimes it's fun to give harder to find items bonus
points. Only one item per house. Make sure an adult is with
each team at all times.
Valentine Charades
We've listed lots of fun ideas to use for the Valentine Charade game.
Print out the
Valentine Charade list free here.
How to play:
Before playing print out the free Valentine Charade game ideas and cut
them into individual pieces. Choose a neutral person to be the
score keeper and to keep track of the time. Place in a Valentine
decorated bucket or bag. Divide into two or more teams. In
turn each team will choose someone to stand in front of the groups and
pick a Charade idea from the bucket/bag. The person then has 1
minute to act out the item on their paper so that their team can guess.
If after 1 minute their team has not guessed the answer then the other
teams can guess. First team to answer correctly gets a point.
First team to 15 wins!
Conversation Heart
Charades
This Valentine Charade game is alot of fun for kids and adults.
How to play: Instead of
printing out the free Valentine Charade list above, all you need is a
big bag of Conversation candy hearts. Follow the directions above
for "Valentine Charades" but instead of acting out Valentine related
items teams will be acting out what is written on the conversation
hearts. Place the conversation hearts in a decorated bag or place
them in a covered container. One person from each team takes turns
pulling out a conversation heart from the container and acting out the
saying for their team to guess.
Valentine Bingo
Print out free Valentine
Bingo Cards here
How to play: After printing out the free Valentine Bingo cards on
pink or red stock paper use this list to fill in the boxes on the cards.
No two cards should be the same so mix up the words on every card.
After the cards are made cut the Valentine Bingo word list into
individual pieces and place them in a decorated container. Give
everyone a Bingo card and some items to mark off their card.
Conversation hearts, red hots, or pennies work well. Call out a
Valentine word and if it is listed on their card they place a marker on
top of the square. Winner is the one who has 5 in a row
horizontally, diagonally or vertically and calls out "HEART" first.
The middle square is "free".
Our word list (also included with the free printable Valentine Bingo
cards):
Heart, Chocolate, Roses, Kisses, Hugs, Cupid, Love, Valentine, Be Mine,
I'm Yours, I love you, True Love, Arrows, Bow, Romance, 14th, February,
Date, Candle, Candy, Diamond, Ring, Flowers, Love Letter, Poem, Secret
Admirer, Love Birds, Pink, Red, Doily, Love Song, Serenade, Honey,
Sweetheart, Amore
How many kisses?
This is a fun icebreaker game or a good game to have at the start of the
party when guests are still arriving. Before the party fill a
large glass container with chocolate kisses (or any type of valentine
candy - conversation hearts, red hots, etc. ) counting the kisses as you
place them in the jar. Write down the number on a piece of paper
and save for later. Decorate the jar and place it on a table by
the front door. Cut up red or pink construction paper into hearts
and place them on the table with several pens. Decorate a
bag or box to hold the pieces of paper. When guests arrive ask
them to guess how many kisses are in the jar and write their answer on
one of the hearts. Place the guess into the bag/container.
The winner is the one who's guess is closest to the number in the jar.
As a prize give the winner the jar of kisses.
XoXo
Make a large tic tac toe board (4 feet x 4 feet) using butcher
paper, or painting an old table cloth. Make or buy several pink
and red bean bags to use as markers. Place a piece of tape on the
ground about 4 feet from the board to mark where players will stand to
throw the bean bags. Players have 5 chances to throw their
bean bags onto the board to make a tic tac toe - 3 bean bags in a row
either diagonally, vertically or horizontally. You can also
write "x"'s and "o"'s on the bean bags and divide into teams to see who
can make a tic tac toe.
Reverse Musical
Chairs
This game is fun to play with a large group. It is played just
like Musical Chairs except instead of a person being taken out after
every round a chair is taken out of the circle. Players must
double up and sit on each others laps. It gets harder every round
trying to find seating for everyone. Everyone wins!
Heart Toss
Cut 3 - 4 different size holes into a large box. Decorate the box
in Valentine's Day colors and give each hole a different point value.
Give guests heart shaped bean bags to toss into the box and keep score.
The winner receives a prize.
